Communities across the United States, urban to rural, recognize the importance of food to their local economies. Holly's presentation will highlight efforts by cities and towns from Maine to Alaska to identify what is theirs to contribute to local and regional food systems in return for increased sustainability, economic resiliency, and social justice.
The student-led Sustainability Coalition of the Southern Berkshire Regional School District, supported by a grant from the Berkshire Environmental Endowment Fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, presents The Sustainable Speaker Series -- Our Relationship to Land and Water: Conversations with Local and National Sustainability Leaders. This virtual speaker series is open to the general public at no charge and will focus on sustainable initiatives in the region and the world. From February through June, our speaker series will present a range of experts to offer actionable methods for audience members to affect change in their households and communities. Speakers will share their experience and research on various topics within the overall focus of environmental sustainability will present a complimentary virtual speaker series featuring six influential leaders in various sustainability fields to inspire action and raise awareness to build a better future for this generation and generations to come.
