OUR COLLECTION
The Bushnell-Sage Library is dedicated to informing, educating, and culturally enriching the residents of Sheffield, MA. To that end the library provides a comprehensive collection of books, magazines, video and audio materials, computers and Internet access, programming and activities designed for all age groups. First and foremost the library aims to be responsive to the needs of the community which it serves.
C/W MARS We are a member of the C/W MARS consortium. When you walk into a C/W MARS Member Library you don’t just come through one door, but those of all member libraries. 140+ member libraries circulate more than nine million items annually to one million registered borrowers. We offer a shared online computer system and combined collections of more than six million items.
Library of Things Bushnell-Sage Library is pleased to offer to our cardholder members an opportunity to borrow musical instruments, a reflector telescope, a stereomicroscope, a GRIT Freedom Chair, and more. LENDING POLICIES
CHECK IT OUT We’ve got books… and more! With a library card, you can check out books, periodicals (except for the current issue), audio books, or DVDs, and our staff is on hand to help you. We have an ONLINE CATALOG where you can help yourself whether you’re at the library or at home.
GET A LIBRARY CARD If you’re new to the library and want a library card, stop by any time our building is open. Our staff will get you started. If we’re closed, just click this link.
LOAN PERIODS
Museum Passes = 3 days
Videos, DVDs and Magazines = 7 days
Books and Audio Books = 21 days
OVERDUE CHARGES Bushnell-Sage Library has no overdue charges on our items. However, if you borrow an item from another CW/MARS library through Bushnell-Sage, you may incur overdue charges for items returned after their due dates, according to the lending library.
RENEWING MATERIALS Items will be automatically renewed for one additional loan period. Downloadable books and audiobooks cannot be renewed. You may renew library materials in person at the library, by phone at (413) 229-7004, or online through your Bushnell-Sage Library account.
HOLDS You may reserve items online through your Bushnell-Sage Library account or by phone at (413) 229-7004. You will receive an email notice or a call when the item you requested is available for pickup.
RETURNING MATERIALS Items may be returned to the library when it is open or in the outside bookdrop anytime. Items may also be returned to any CW/MARS library. Restrictions apply on our museum passes and Library of Things.
LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS A library cardholder is responsible for all materials checked out on their library card. Parents are responsible for items checked out by their children. The charge for lost or damaged materials is the value of the item.
