Professor Jamie Rowen from UMass Amherst will discuss the ongoing issues of bodily autonomy as they relate to pregnancy, childbirth, childrearing, and other reproductive choices. Her talk will focus on the relationship between concepts of reproductive rights and reproductive justice, offering a brief history of reproductive justice law in the U.S., and current challenges to reproductive choices due to anti-choice legal advocacy.
Dr. Rowan is an Assoc. Professor of Legal Studies and Political Science at UMASS- Amherst.
