The featured artists for the month of July at Bushnell Sage Library are "The Painting Sisters". The show will run from Friday, July 1 through Sunday, July 31. The opening reception will take place on Friday evening, July 1 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

This talented group of women was born in May, 2020, as a product of the Covid pandemic. They are local artists who have been painting together in Kate Knapp’s Front Street Gallery for years. Kate created a wonderful environment at her studio and during lockdown, they lost their intimate connection to make art and hear each other's critique of their ongoing work.

Thus they decided to experiment doing critique on Zoom. Alone in their homes — in the Berkshires, Bonaire, an AirStream and Block Island —, they worked and were excited to be able, once again, to show their work, to see each other's paintings, to express themselves, and mostly to give and receive encouragement from those they trusted. They are proud and happy to share some of the work they've created.
